Are you ready to embark on a life-changing journey of self-discovery, leadership development, and personal growth?

This is your opportunity to take part in a multi event project focused on YOU to be Empowered and Connected to together Create a thriving community for YOU and others right where you live!

We're starting 12th JULY with a 5 Days of immersion in Leadership Development, Personality Assessment, Mental Health, Wellbeing & so much more for 18 - 24 year olds who want to maximise their leadership and success this year & beyond!

Who can get involved?

Anyone living in the Coonabarabran and surrounding Warrumbungle Shire aged 18 - 24

 

What does it involve?

Participating in activities when and how you can. Taking in all the opportunities you can manage or what you can or want to participate in. See more details of each phase below.

 

  1. Empowerment: Developing leadership skills, collaboration, with a proactive focus on mental health and wellbeing. 

  2. Connections: workshops, community group connections and volunteering. 

  3. Creating a Thriving Tomorrow: Workshops empowering participants to effect positive change around Coonabarabran.

 

When will it happen?

Lots of varied activities from July 2024 - March 2025

The Building Tomorrow’s Leaders program brings a transformative 5-day experience. 

When: 9am - 4pm Friday 12th July to Tuesday 16th July, 2024

Where: The Warrumbungle Mountain Motel Function Centre 

Cost: Free event - All meals and refreshments provided

Limited spaces: Priority will be given to those who can attend all 5 days, If you wish to participate but are unable to attend all 5 days please contact the Program Facilitator Vivian Evans on 0429 424 335 or 2357CDC@gmail.com

 

PROGRAM DETAILS

 

 Fun engaging interactive sessions. 

A full-day session does not mean you will be sitting in a classroom, there will be creative sessions and games, prizes to be won.

 

Friday 12th July: Value-based Leadership

💥 Unleash your leadership potential and gain the confidence to lead with purpose. Play  "The Leadership Game," to foster personal and professional growth, improve decision-making, and enhance communication skills. 

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th: Youth Mental Health First Aid

🧠  Accredited Training- opens avenues for Job and career growth.

You'll gain the skills to provide support and comfort to those facing mental health challenges.

Help break the stigma surrounding mental health by promoting understanding and acceptance. 

Monday 15th July: Behaviour Analysis 

🤔 By understanding different Human Behaviour styles, you will gain invaluable knowledge on how to communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and leverage your strengths as leaders, as well as understanding your own strengths and fostering collaboration and success.

Tuesday 16th July: Reflection, Application, Celebration & Evaluation

A day of reflection and application charting. A day of celebration and evaluation. 

It concludes with a Community Impact Challenge and Youth Panel Discussion for uncovering and deciding on the exciting opportunities and choices for the next 2 phases of this project.

Phase 2: Connection from August 2024 - March 2025

When: Dates and times to be decided in partnership with participants

Join in a variety of activities that YOU as a collective decide to do and participate in

Socially connective events with other 18 - 25 years old. Fun workshops and events engaging creativity, life skills, creating personalised career portfolios and outdoor activities fostering growth. 

We have plans and funding for a variety of different activities to do together however in the Empower stage we are all ears for what YOU as a group and individually would like to do. 

 

Introductions to existing community groups and volunteer opportunities expanding your networks. Join events to discover what various groups do within our community. Tap into the often hidden possibilities of what is available right here in and around Coonabarabran. Treat it like a tasty smorgasbord where you uncover what interests YOU!

Phase 3 - Creating a Thriving Tomorrow: 1st February - 31st March

This Phase is focused on empowering YOU to effect positive change around Coonabarabran. Collaboratively creating and pitching ideas. 

You will be led on a journey to work with others to explore and practically grow ideas that you know will make a difference. Learn how to expand your creative ideas into constructive Lean Canvas model effectively Pitch your idea and project concepts to external partners who can help support you to bring your ideas to reality.

Participate in Grant Preparation Workshops enabling you to collaboratively seek funding for community projects to help them come to life. So as we wrap up this project you will be well on your way to creating the next one!
